It's crazy my schedule from Saturday until the next sunday is ( Cutcutcut )
And I get to photograph pretty much all of those bands, some headliners might have restrictions though, so fingers crossed
I also get to see the friends I haven't seen in a long time which will be great... I'm soldiering on, the week off work will be nice. |

| | Choice Hops And Bottled Self Esteem - Bayside | ] | A moment of respite
I've been very busy
Started work on monday, then came down with the plague on tuesday, still went to see the Kooks that night though, and enjoyed them immensely.
Worked today, then got home, ate dinner, and left for Bayside which I was shooting, wasn't on the guestlist but talked my way in without paying cover which was nice. Shot the show got great pictures, really enjoyed seeing one of my favorite bands again.
Same thing tomorrow, off work, then off to Moneen and Choke downtown to shoot it, feet hurt after standing up all day today, tomorrow will probably be murder.
If that doesn't do it, round 4 on friday will, as I get off at 2, shower, and then rush downtown to lineup for Patrick Wolf's headlining show, which i'm hopefully going to be able to shoot as well.
Saturday will be sorting pictures, writing reviews, and sloth
then sunday is Amy Winehouse with Patrick Wolf opening.
This week is insane... only exceeded by next week haha
but that's a story for another blog...

Laptop refuses to charge so I'm sending it off to get repaired, only had enough battery to back up some stuff so i really hope it doesn't get formatted... in the meantime, just using my PC.
Saw Jen for 45 minutes yesterday at her stop over in Toronto, it was nice, but I do miss her
Then went and saw Ted Leo + Pharmacists, which was amazing, but my camera ran out of juice in the opening band, Paramore tomorrow, and Ten Second Epic sat... woo |

| | Overture - Patrick Wolf | ] | Music is big right now, I have a week off before I start work so I'm trying to listen through stuff I haven't really before. I have a bunch of shows starting tonight so lets get that out of the way first, for the next 2 weeks
May 2nd Ted Leo + Pharmacists - Mod Club
May 3rd The Long Winters - Berkley Church
May 4th Paramore - Phoenix
May 5th Ten Second Epic - Mod Club (I'm Shooting this)
May 8th The Kooks - Guvernment
May 9th Bayside - Reverb
May 10th Moneen - Mod Club
May 11th Patrick Wolf - El Mocambo
May 13th Amy Winehouse - Mod Club
Patrick Wolf I near flipped out over, he's opening for Amy Winehouse which makes me glad I'm taking my dad to that, but now he announced this show at the El Mocambo, which is amazingly small, I'm very excited, only catch, it's tickets at doors only, which means getting there early.
Otherwise it will be a good couple of days, and I'm looking forward to it immensely.
As for music, Patrick Wolf again, is an amazing musician and I can't stop listening to his CD. Gogol Bordello is absolutely hilarious and cool, The Reel Big Fish live CD is priceless, The Hives live CD is amazing as well, and they got added to V-Fest which makes me far more joyful than I should be. I've also been listening to De Stijl again as I got floor tickets to see the White Stripes at the Ampitheatre when they come. Over all it should be one hell of a summer.

| | My Little Brother - Art Brut | ] | I have an interview at the Emo Store tomorrow, I'm excited
and I shot my first show tonight with my new D50, it was amazing, and the show was freaking amazing, Art Brut is one of the best live bands around.
Kaiser Chiefs were alright last night, only shined when everyone was into it though, which wasn't often.
and I didn't realize where they used them but my pictures from the Good, The Bad, And The Queen are used on the tour summary on the website: http://www.goodbadqueen.com/live/tour2007/USmenu.html
and the link to it on the front page of the official Good The Bad and The Queen site is one of mine too... *nerd out moment*
PS. It's spring music season, I recommend No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom, and Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman I'm a Machine for driving music

Placebo was absolutely amazing, though no Protege Moi, or Nancy Boy, but it was still great and I got great pictures etc. One more band off of my list of people to see before I die, which is both getting shorter and longer as I listen to more music.
Kurt Vonnegut died which is a shame, "So it goes", and I'd like to think that what he wrote in Slaughter House V is true, and we all live forever, because we exist in every moment of our past at the same time as we exist in the present.. (it's been a few years since I read it)
In other news, some New Jersey College Paper is using one of my Taking Back Sunday pictures off of Deviant Art and publishing it, and hopefully sending me a copy, so that will be very cool
I need to write in this more, and I need to write my stupid essays, and study for my stupid exam, which involves writing more stupid essays in prep.
Interpol tomorrow.. I can't wait and I'm scheduled to shoot my first show on May 9th, and its Bayside who're one of my favorite emo ish bands, so I'm excited as hell.
Jen's Sorority Formal Thing tonight, so expect dressed up pictures if we end up going...
Home in a few days, so expect lots of pictures

I've overdosed on shows this week, 6 in 7 days.. insanity so I'm taking today off, though I'm mega hungry and feel like anything I can make myself isn't going to cut it, so I've been musing over that for about an hour... so soon.
All my pictures from the past week and more are up on my DA: http://thegreatdream.deviantart.com/
Umm.. school is almost done, I managed to get more show tickets, I just want summer to be here, and not... ugg... I'll deal as it comes I guess
Nothing this week t'ill Placebo on saturday.. I am so unbelievably excited for that.. you don't know... oh god... and it's in Montreal.. which means Protege Moi in french? if so... video'd for sure

I started another Deviant Art account, for my concert photography for now http://thegreatdream.deviantart.com/
I spent(wasted) all day playing Mario Kart on the N64 with Jen(<3) and some friends
The new Pirates of The Carribean movie is kind of not as good at all
If you ever get a chance, see the band mewithoutYou live, I saw them in passing really but they've still left a big impression on me, and the make beautiful music based on faith.
I've been writing a lot for the magazine: wgtsmagazine.com I got some good feedback for my I Hate Sally interview, and the guy from Neverending White Lights liked the review of I did of his show, which made me smile bigger than you could imagine |

| | Song For Clay (Dissapear Here) - Bloc Party | ] | That was the sound of my head exploding
I've suddenly had to plan everything that's coming for the next few months in about a day... and my dad won't get back to me on when we're in England over Spring Break and gah!!!1232!~!
Here's whats happening, up to the 18th of February everything is good, I'm seeing Jack's Mannequin then, then sometime the following week I leave for England... now I think my dad was talking about getting back on the Tuesday.. that night is bright eyes at the Opera House, which I'd adore going to see... so I'm trying to find any on sale info for that.
Thats February, March is where everything becomes a shit storm
March 6th, I'm off to Montreal to see Scissor Sisters (yay!) and then yesterday Wolfmother got announced for that date in TO but I gave up on that, as I have seen them before and TO is much more expensive to get to.. Today however Bloc Party was announced for the 25th in Toronto, and I've pretty much decided I'm going, so I'm trying to get Explosions In The Sky tickets for the day before to make a weekend out of it but they're sold out already, so I hit the LJ groups, record stores and craiglist in hopes that someone will sell me one. Now once I get back, I have taking back sunday on the 27th, which has doors at 7: while I have an important group presentation in my 5:30-8:30 class so hopefully I can just go early and ditch...
And my class tonight, will be missed for Taste of Chaos, but I don't know my midterm schedule for it yet... i seriously might pop...
However if it Works out, I will have the best month ever
March 6th: Scissor Sisters (Montreal) March 11th: RX Bandits / Gym Class Heroes (Ottawa) March 24th: Explosions In The Sky (Toronto) March 25th: Bloc Party / Final Fantasy (Toronto) March 27th: Taking Back Sunday / Armor For Sleep (Ottawa) March 28th: Taste Of Chaos (30 Seconds to Mars / Chiodos / Saosin)(Ottawa) March 30th: Snow Patrol / OK Go (Montreal) |
